Brand New Religion: Teixeirism
Teixeirism (Tesh-ehr-izm): An organizational investment, both economical and stimulative, laying out the foundation and groundwork of the sport's impending future. Such ventures take the form of an acquisition, free agent signing, and/or upbringing from the minor league level. Characteristics include, but are not limited to, intrepidness and loyalty involving the organization and its new centerpiece. Nevertheless, the team declares their new acquisition as the focal point for their future thus creating an envious path for competitors to follow. Teixeirism in History: Many living in the 1920's remember the Teixeirist trade of Babe Ruth for $100,000. In 1971, the whole world (except for Mets fans) remember the Teixeirist swap of Nolan Ryan for Jim Fregosi. In our present time, most recall the Teixeirist upbringing of Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter in the late 90's. Such recollections are notonly citations of All-Star talent, but of historical benchmarks in baseball history. These Teixeirists contributed to their team fortune and forever represented a new age in the way the game was played. For the Atlanta Braves, such an opportunity will occur at the end of the 2008 season. Such a time will mark the beginning of a historical 2-year turnaround in which the former #5 pick of the 2001 draft will be on the market. Most scouts and fans alike realize the potential this individual still has and most belief he has not reached his climax.. In reality, one can conclude that to keep such an impactful player will cost an amount equal to a current source detrimenting the current. Thus, once a considered expense will turn into one teams fortune.
